1. Analysis of my Rock magazine’s
Double Page Spread

2. This is the masthead of the
page which says ‘WILD
CHILD’. The word ‘child’ gives
the impression of someone
young and innocent,
whereas the word ‘wild’
gives the impression of
someone interesting who is
all over the place.
The main image on
the double page that I
have taken is of the
same female who was
featured in the
contents page. Here I
have taken a mid shot
of her which covers
the left page. The
females style in this
photograph is very
much of a hard and
strong look, which I
was aiming for and
went well as planned.
Her makeup again is
dark which connotes
rock. Also her
makeup matches with
the colour scheme of
the page which is
black and red, this
can easily attracts the
reader.
There are only two columns
with a large masthead which
provides the impression that
the image is what is selling
this article.
The colour scheme of this page is red, black and white. The
main colour is white which is on the text, white represents
something innocent and quiet whereas the colour red on the
page represents something angry but also passion which you
can find out in the text. The colour black represents darkness
which all relates to the rock genre of music.
The female is called ‘Ruby’ she is represented as a bad girl,
because of what she is wearing and also her makeup look,
which makes her look serious. The overdone black eye shadow
that Ruby is wearing completes the bad girl image. However
most teenagers girls do not wear dark makeup, so this shows
the rebellious side highlighting her as the main focus.
The background is of a bright black and red stage. So this implies that
she likes to sing, and so therefore this would mean that why the stage
has been put in the background, to emphasise her passion to sing.
I would say that the lighting is
high key lighting on Ruby, as it
was a sunny day when I took
this photograph. Whereas the
background of the stage is
low key lighting, the high key
lighting stands out, as it is the
main focus on the page.
