12. Interpersonal
◦ Treating anyone and everyone with utmost dignity
and respect (visitors, staff, fellow volunteers etc.)
◦ This means avoiding any behaviour that is
considered disrespectful, discriminatory and that
could provide any discomfort to the other individual.
13. Dress Standards
◦ Dress in a manner that is modest, neat, and well
groomed
◦ There is no specific uniform required

15. Attendance and Punctuality
◦ Attend your assigned role in a punctual and
professional manner (according to schedule)
◦ Please do not be late for your shift or coming back
from a break as being late means that your fellow
volunteers will be delayed in going on their break.
16. Absences
◦ Every volunteer is expected to report to his/her
shift on time and to stay for its duration.
◦ In the event that you are unable to attend a team
meeting, or a scheduled volunteer shift, please notify
the Volunteer Management Team, through e-
mail at volunteer@isnacanada.com. We
understand that emergencies do arise, however, as we
depend on our volunteers for the smooth delivery and
execution of projects, we ask that you notify us at
least 24 hours in advance of your expected shift.
17. Fire
◦ In the event of a fire alarm/fire, you must evacuate
the ICC using the nearest safety exit. Once
outside, find your way to the front entrance for
further instructions.
Medical Emergency
◦ In the event of a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 if
necessary and immediately thereafter, notify a
staff member of the situation.
◦ In this type of instance, please remain calm and
assure the individual that you have notified authorities
and that help is on the way.
18. Before your shift:
Arrive at least fifteen minutes before your shift and check in at the
Volunteer Management room (next to book store)
Once there, sign in and collect your id badge (Lanyard)
After registration/sign-in, you will be directed to your team manager/lead for
further instructions – proceed to your designated work area.
After your shift:
Return to Volunteer Management room to sign out and return your
lanyard (this is mandatory!)
Registration Routine
19. Registration occurs daily in Ramadan and
Lanyards/Badges will be distributed then.
Volunteers must wear their Lanyards/Badges and must
have them visible at all times when on a shift.
Do not give your id to any other persons – as this will lead to
consequences.
If lost/misplaced, they are non-replaceable , there will be a
$2 charge for a replacement
