Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
Letter of Rec for Emerald Mountain Energy
1. To Whom It May Concern:
I have had the distinct pleasure of having Sarah White as my intern at Emerald
Mountain Energy for the summer of 2014. As an individual, Sarah has a sparkling
personality with a charismatic energy and innovative ideas. In the workplace, she
fulfilled assignments and took initiative, exceeding directions and accomplishing the
necessary tasks. Sarah came into the company with knowledge of solar power and
left the internship knowing how to market the product, write grants for renewable
energy, and gained insight into what it is like to work for an energy company.
Sarah worked with me throughout the summer as an assistant – answering emails,
making phone calls, and attending town meetings about energy conservation. Her
primary project for the summer was supporting the grant writing process for a
geothermal energy rebate funded by the Federal Government. Sarah was the main
correspondent to representatives of the county, state, and federal offices. She
emailed and spoke to these representatives, gained the approval to write the grant,
and drafted and obtained letters of support for the grant. The unique skills Sarah
possesses include her determination, intelligence, and creativity. Writing a Federal
Grant is a tedious and extensive process – however, through Sarah’s perseverance
and fortitude, she accomplished the task with efficiency and thoroughness.
Sarah is an enthusiastic, responsible, and confident young woman who was a
pleasure to work with for the summer. Her success and accomplishments within my
company ensure me that she is an esteemed individual who will be successful at
whatever she sets her mind to. It is with confidence that I recommend Sarah. I
strongly believe that she would be a positive and valuable contribution to your
organization. If you should need any more information, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Sincerely,
Susan Holland
