Voice over: Stress is often presumed to be negative and undesirable but this isn’t true. There are two types of stress – Eustress and Distress. Click the tabs to learn about these types.
For the Eustress tab: Eustress is the positive form of stress that motivates individuals to attain higher levels of performance and achievement. For example, a new project may motivate you and you may begin planning for its success.
For the Distress tab: Distress is damaging stress. It is the pathogenic variety that has unpleasant, harmful side effects. Multiple tasks, tight deadlines may lead to distress.

Voice over: What leads to stress? Stressors are factors that lead to stress. These are of two types: Internal or Psychological Stressors and External or Environmental Stressors. Click the tabs to learn about these types of stressors.
For the Internal/Psychological tab: Internal stressors are intrinsic to a person. These include:
Personality Type: A type A person is more prone to stress.
Perception: The values, attitudes, etc. that a person holds can also act as stressors.
Past Experience: This can help a person become immune to the same stressful situation.
Feelings: These play an important role and differ from person to person.
For the External/Environmental tab: External stressors fall into two categories:
Acute: These are major blows that the person may have to deal with such as sudden resource crunch in the face to tight deadlines.
Chronic: This is repetitive and of low level caused by a combination of day to day stressors such as daily tasks to complete.
