Franklin County sought to expand broadband access by partnering with a wireless internet service provider (WISP). They conducted an assessment that found many rural areas lacked coverage. The county worked with B2X Online, providing tower space in exchange for connecting government offices and expanding residential broadband. This expanded coverage from 2 to 14 towers serving over 1000 homes and businesses within 3 years, though some remote areas still lacked access.
