Academic Project:
Title: “A STUDY OF PHYSICAL, MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF A NEW
COMPOSITE BASED IN REINFORCED AL MATRIX WITH LIGHT WEIGHT
AND LOW COST CERAMIC”
Description: Syntactic AL foam is fabricated using stir casting method, with matrix Al6063
and exfoliated ceramic material (Hydrated mg-al-silicate ceramic particle) The microstate
characteristics, were studied.
From the study it is concluded that coal Hydrated mg-al-silicate ceramic particle can be used
for the production of composites and can turn industrial waste into industrial profit. This can
also solve the problem of storage and disposal of Hydrated mg-al-silicate ceramic particle .
Hydrated mg-al-silicate ceramic particle more than 5% by weight can be successfully added
to aluminium alloy 6063 by stir casting to produce composites.
Compression stress values have been increased with the increase in the amount of Hydrated
mg-al-silicate ceramic particle .
