2. The Dashboard
When you enter your course, you will be on the Dashboard. This is
where your teacher will post announcements and important
information. Be sure to check for new items daily.
3. Course Menu
On the left hand side of the webpage, you will see the course menu
buttons. Each one will take you to a different area of the course.
4. Your Flight Instructor
This button will take you to information about your teacher. You
will find your teacher’s contact information, office hours, and
more.
5. Your Flight Plan
This button will take you to the course syllabus (teacher
expectations and grading policies), pace chart, course standards,
and copyright information.
6. Your LockerThis button will take you to your own personal area where your
teacher may post specific lessons for you and/or interim/report
card grades, etc. This is also where you can find course tutorials like
how to work with assignments in blackboard.
7. Destination Lessons
This button is the MOST IMPORTANT!!! This is where you will find
your course modules which contain the lessons and assignments!
Make sure you complete modules, lessons & assignments in the
order that they are presented!
8. Your Grades
This button will take you to your course grades. It is very important
that you use this ONLY to check your grades. Destination Lessons is
where you need to go to complete your coursework because Your
Grades only contains the graded assignments and does not include
very important lessons that must be completed as well in order to
complete these assignments!
9. Virtual Classroom
This button will take you to live sessions with your teacher for
reviews, questions, help sessions, etc. These sessions will be
scheduled for specific times and at the discretion of the teacher.
13. Inside Destination Lessons
After clicking on Destination Lessons, you will open a page with
your course modules.
Module 1 – Science Basics
You will need to click on the title of the module to open up the
lessons and assignments for that module.
14. Inside the Module
After clicking on the module title, you will open up a table of
contents with the lessons and assignments. The first
lesson/assignment will also be showing. You can arrow through
the lessons/assignments, or click on each one in the table of
contents to open it.
15. Inside the Module
This icon represents course lessons. Although these may not be
graded, they provide the background information necessary to be
successful on graded assignments and assessments.
This icon represents course assignments. These assignments will be
graded and are based on the lessons.
This icon represents course assessments. These will be module
quizzes and exams that are graded and based on the lessons and
assignments.
16. Key Reminders!
• Use Firefox as your web browser
• Make sure pop-up blocker is turned OFF
• Keep all programs updated
• When using a pdf file with typwriter, always SAVE the
file FIRST to your desktop, THEN type your answers on
it and SAVE it AGAIN
