The NHS Grampian initiative sought to address workplace conflict and bullying. Surveys found 17-47% of staff reported experiencing bullying. To address this, NHS Grampian implemented a Dignity at Work policy, provided training on conflict management, and launched a mediation initiative with trained mediators. An evaluation found the mediation program helped resolve disputes but demand exceeded mediator capacity. NHS Grampian continues training new mediators and promoting conflict management skills to further support staff.
