- Thanks for joining us today.
- On the panel today we have myself Kenny Doole (brief intro about yourself. I’ve been at SIMUL8 for X years and have worked with many of you, my main role is… ) and joining me today are 2 SIMUL8 experts – Glenn Holburn our Head of support and Sander Vermeulen our Head of services. Glenn has been heading up our support team for the past 2 years and is in touch with our users daily to ensure that they are getting the most out of the software and this is where a lot of the great feedback comes from that drives new releases. Sander is our head of support and has over 16 years simulation experience working with some big organizations including, BAE Systems, Toyota and Capital One (are we ok to use these names.) Both Sander and glenn work with the software on a daily basis and are going to demo all the great new features to you today.
- So just a brief outline of what we’re going to cover today… I’m going to take you through the 2014 feature set quickly, so you can get an idea of all the new features that are going to be in SIMUL8 2014, followed by Sander and Glenn who are going to show you these in a lot more detail then at the end I’ll speak to you about some of the upcoming events that will be happening at SIMUL8.
- SIMUL8 Corporation turns 20 this year, and to mark this significant achievement we wanted to create a release that pays tribute to the people that matter the most, our users. Every feature in this release has been a request from our users or has been developed as a result of recent projects with customers in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare and contact centers. For 20 years we’ve been on a journey of discovery with you (our users) to create the most powerful simulation tool that delivers results fast and we’re really excited that this release does that, whether you’re an existing user or a complete beginner. That’s why we’re trusted by 70% of Fortune 50 Companies
- Give a brief description of each feature or pick out a select few that you’re really excited about… Every feature in this release has been a request from our users or has been developed as a result of recent projects with our customers in manufacturing, healthcare and contact centers. Highlight features include a Day Planner to give more control creating arrival schedules, and allow you to make changes in just one menu, several new features to improve the flexibility of resources such as Resource Individuality and a new Resource Schedule, and we've also given a complete overhaul to our Visual Logic Editor that will excite expert users and give even newest users increased access to the power and flexibility of SIMUL8.

- Just briefly I wanted to let you know about some of our upcoming events… We are running introductory training courses in both the US and the UK next month, so if you or anyone in your organization is looking to get up to speed with SIMUL8 then get in touch. We’re also planning to run another online user group in April, so again we’ll send you some information about this in the near future and we’ll be attending the IIE annual conference in Montreal in May, where we’ll be running a user group, so we’ll be in touch soon with more information on this.
