2. E - Commerce:
• E - commerce is where you can buy and sell products over electronic systems such
as the internet. (e.g. Amazon). It has been affected by ICT by more people being
capable to shop online . Before E – commerce people had to actually go to the
shops and buy the products they wanted to get instead of staying indoors and
shopping online.
• The benefits of using e - commerce is people are able to shop without leaving the
house, it is quicker then going to the shop to buy.
• The disadvantages of using it is it will cost more because you will have to pay for
the items and then you will have to pay for postage and packaging, you could
receive the wrong item then you will have to return it. Also they are able to use
your credit card details without you knowing.
• (Amazon, Ebay, Tesco, Asda, Morrison's, Sainsbury's, Wickes)

3. Education (VLE)
• VLE – Virtual Learning Environment.
• If you are unable to leave your house or you are ill and can’t go to school and you
have a computer you are still able to be taught virtually. You may not have access
to a computer at home and you are not able to go to school then you will not be
able to learn. People are able to cheat by using the internet or asking someone
else the question to get the answer to a question.
• Advantages of using a VLE is people are still able to learn even if they are unable to
leave their house. They are also able to get the same education as the people who
are in school when they are not.
• Some disadvantages are people might cheat to get the answers and they will not
actually be learning they will just be searching for the answers or asking someone.
Also some people may not have access to a computer and not be able to learn.

4. Communication (Social Media):
• Social Media is a set of websites where you are able to communicate with other
people if you are not near or with them. Some social media websites are:
Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.
• Some advantages of using social media is you are able communicate with friends
or family if they are not with you or somewhere else. You are able to see videos on
Youtube if you need to do something.
• Some disadvantages of using social media is people are able to get on your
accounts without you knowing and people may use it for cyber – bullying. People
are also able to plagiarise your work if you share it on a website.

5. Industry - Automation
• Automation is the use of machines, control systems and information technologies
to optimize productivity in the production of goods and delivery of services. It is
also used to produce a high quantity amount of the product being produced.
Before automation was introduced businesses used to have to employ workers to
do the job manually.
• Some advantages of using automation it is a faster way to produce a high amount
of the product being produced and it also costs less money because businesses
would not have to employ workers for the job.
• Some disadvantages are if the machine gets a technical glitch the company will
have to get a technician to fix the machine and the machine could break. The
machine may also make mistakes when creating the product.
