1. TO MY COLLEAGUES FROM MANY PARTS OF THE WORLD
I want to thank you for your presence at this small meeting place – the “slishare”. I am 62 years old and have a son who also is an endocrinologist. I feel great for uploading these beautiful (so I find them) papers in this rapidly changing area of metabolism. As you can see nothing was written or worked out by me or a team. However, I am writting a short review on insulin secretion and points of intersection of GLP-1, GPI and insulin – to mention only the masters.
But I would like to receive from you whatever you have about BNDF, leptin, insulin, glucagon….acting in the brain to control glycemia. Maybe some of you already have met patients who develop almost uncontrolable HYPOGLYCEMIA after a stroke – and other kinds of examples of the liaison between the brain and peripheral metabolism.
I thank you in antecipation. Finally, I want to close saying that to upload the science of medicine and observe the amount of downloads – that’s what makes me happy. I will be in Lisbon the 2 next weeks for the EASD. Maybe some of us could meet there. Today I will post a paper that I find magnificent…for us all to learn more and more.
São Luís (Maranhão) – Brazil – 09/10/2011. Ruy Pantoja, MD.
