help them achieving the goal, with huge reduction in
costs and timeframe
o Quote from CP5 strategy on Level Crossing:
● In CP5 we plan to reduce significantly the risk from the public
misuse at level crossings by upgrading the protection at high risk
locations, extending the programme of work started in CP4. The
prioritisation of the type and timing of enhancements is informed
by a whole life cost model specifically developed to support cost
benefit appraisals for level crossings.

o Installed 48 level crossing systems based upon new
and novel technology in Anglia Route
o 60 further systems to be delivered to Anglia, Sussex
and Kent Routes
o Framework Call-Off Agreement signed with some
suppliers, enable NR to achieve their goals
o Very positive feedback from users who states:
● “I do feel more secure when having a warning signal and not
only use “Stop, Look and Listen” before crossing
