2. 5 Steps…
Your personal development should be a high priority to
you.
But in many cases it’s not.
You’re too busy “doing the job”, or you
don’t “have any time” to sit down and think about what
you need to do to enhance your future potential.
3. 5 Steps…
Hogwash! Your future should be #1 and you
need to spend time planning it.
To help, here are 5 steps to follow to REALLY get
you going
4. 5 Steps…
1. Define where you want to be in 24
months. I don’t mean generally.
What SPECIFIC POSITION do you want? Marketing
Director? VP Sales? Manager if Operations?
The target becomes the thing that drives what your
personal development plan looks like.
5. 5 Steps…
2. Identify the people - FOXES - who
would influence the list of those considered for the
position you have targeted.
These folks become your internal target market. Know
everything there is to know about each FOX: history,
successes, strengths, communities, education, and
personal currency in the organization.
6. 5 Steps…
3. Define your COMPETITION for your
target position.
Who are the top contenders and in what priority?
Develop a detailed profile for each.
7. 5 Steps…
4. Create your personal ONLY
Statement
“I am the ONLY one that…” is the claim
that will drive your personal development activities.
8. 5 Steps…
5. Set THREE OBJECTIVES to begin
executing your Development Plan.
What are the critical 3 things that you need to do
over the next 90 days to get your competitive ranking
higher for the position you have set your sights on?
As you set your objectives, keep in mind the work
you’ve done in the first 4 steps.
9. 5 Steps…
There you have it: the launching code for your
Personal Game Plan.
Invest the time.
Good luck.
