Youth Exchange Certification – Year 8
• 89% districts certified
• Annual renewal process
• Outbound-only certified districts:
• India: 3020, 3051, 3052, 3053, 3281, 3282,
• Africa: 9110 (Nigeria), 9212(Ethiopia and Kenya
only), 9220 (Comoro Islands, Djibouti,
Madagascar, Mauritius, and Seychelles; Reunion
and Mayotte are fully certified)
• East Timor: 9500
• Newly certified district: 3240 (India)

Recertification – strengthening district policies
• Recertification approx. every 6 years
• Review of district policy, incorporation, and general
liability insurance documents
• Review of any required or recommended student
travel insurance policies
• Outcomes:
– Improved documentation
– Reduction of alternatives to Board requirements such as
criminal background checks
– Opportunity to share best practices

• Inbound student data
– All types of exchanges
– Any convenient format: scans of Guarantee

evaluations each year

– Club motivation and compliance

The United Charity Miles competition
• In 2013-14, four students were awarded with round-
trip airfare
• In 2014-15, six students will be awarded!
– Studying in Japan, Germany, USA, Brazil, and Ecuador
– One student remains to be selected from southern hemisphere
