1. 2013:Vertical fire water pump/Cooling water pump-MANTURBO compressors:
Power: 750 kW, Installed 1974 and fromstartup this huge vertical pump always
suffered fromheavy vibration problems. Vibration findings discussed with OEM
and problems weresolved within a few weeks, Capacity: 2500 m3/hr, Speed:
1000 RPM, weight; 10.000 kg, position: 10mverticalbelow ground level. Finally
after 40 years no vibration problems anymore.
Findings: engineers did not follow the right sequence and procedures to solvethis
vibration problem. OEM specialists fail to analyze and makeclear problem
definition. OEM did not follow the right sequence and balancing procedures.
Result: vibration now far below API limits. No doubt these millions of euros could
have been saved. How could these millions been saved: I am willing to explain my
personalfindings to managers interested. Engineers who recognizethis case
might feel uncomfortable, which is not my intention. My personaldrive and duty:
find a professionalsolution for the problemwith at least 95%+performanceat
firstgo, whatis the best fit for the duty and how do we keep OPEX and CAPEX as
low as possible.
2010-2014: GasUnieGrijpskerk Phase2, two MAN Turbo MOPICO Compressors:
purchase, all inspections, all technical meetings, release for transport, installation,
commissioning. Tremendous technical results, within planning. Savings on
mechanical rotating part approx. 2 milj. euros.
