Qatar National Sport Day in Dukhan
1. Qatar National Sports Day
Sports activities of different disciplines were organized at QP, Dukhan
Operations, to mark the first ever “National Sports Day” 2012 in Qatar.
The day began with Golf Club hosting the Mini golf at the Dukhan Golf
Course. Dukhan Water Sports organized a Sailing competition and a mini
Volleyball tournament.
A brunch was organized at the Jebel area where all the community enjoyed
a sumptuous buffet.
There was a Basket-ball tournament for Adults and children Under 15 at the
Al Dostour Hall at Dukhan Recreation Club.
Kids, below 12, had fun with a Mini football competi-
tion as well.
The big Draw of the day was the 1st ever Walkathon
organized by Dukhan Fitness Club which attracted
around 350 entries for 5-km and 10-Km races.
Specially designed T-Shirts for National Sports Day
were distributed at all events.
Mr. Ahmed Saif Al Sulaiti, Operations Manager, Duk-
han Operations, distributed valuable prizes to all
winners.
It was a day for all to be happy and all of Dukhan
enjoyed the event on a National Holiday.

DWS In line with National Sports Day conduct the following activities in the club:

BEACH Volleyball tournament was another successful event for Dukhan communities
10 teams from Dukhan communities enjoy the challenge on the grass.
Game’s started at 12:30 and takes around 5 hours to reach to the final match.
The Nepal team shows a high professionalism and wins the final against QATAR-B in a
very hot match.

4. Qatar National Sports Day
National Sport Day competition, Tuesday 14th February 2012.
The day was enjoyed by all 15 teams that entered the competition. The team of
Leo Tellis and Mohammed Kamali carded a nett 68 and finished in second
place. The winners of the competition was the team of Gill Milne and Phil
James. The brilliant play of Gill ensured a score of nett 61.

The Dukhan Recreation Club contributed strongly to the National
Sports Day event on 14th Feb 2012, providing vital logistic support and
also organizing Under 15 Basketball, the Qatar team were the winners
and Doha Team were the Runners up.
The Al Dostur Hall hosted the Adult Basketball which was won by the
Dukhan Filipinas and the runners up were the Dukhan Bowlers .
At the DFC football ground, a tournament for Under -12 was organized
which was won by the Qatar Team and Runners up were the Doha
Team.
