In the past companies spent millions of dollars standing behind two-way glass to
hear people tear apart their products and services to try and improve them.
And the only way you and I could comment or express our opinion
within the media was to write letters to the editor or maybe call in to a radio show.
Thanks to the Internet, everyone’s ability to join the conversation has exploded.
To most folks when I say Social Media they think of these 5 websites

The goals that work best are traditional marketing objectives such as
Increase overall awareness, favorability or purchase intent, increase advocates
Decide your message and intent - must be of some value such as tips, inside information,
solutions to challenges.
Now, some of you might decide right here Social Media doesn’t fit - and that’s okay, however...
You must change if you are to stay relevant in the digital era.
65% of consumers had a digital experience that changed their opinion.
97% said the digital experience influenced whether they made a purchase or not.
Digital can make or break you.
Dip your toe in the pool.
Instantly Secure your brand across the social web

What can you bring to the conversation?
What can the audience count on you for?
By not only listening, but hearing and observing the responses and mannerisms
of those who define your markets, you can source ideas, learn to get people talking, plus earn trust and respect.
Advice on how to write - be honest, be fair, be nice - at least most of the time.
The more content you produce, the better rank you’ll have in search, which means more visibility
and being able to drive traffic back to your site. Start off with a goal you can manage -
say 1 blog post and two comments on industry blogs per week
Social Media Marketing is not FREE.
Yes, Facebook is free to use. So is Twitter - for now.
But your time is valuable. Or your employee who blogs for you as part of her job description -
there’s a salary you’re paying.
There are many ways to track results.
Google Analytics is a free service that gives you a lot of information - pay attention to where traffic coming from
There are also many paid services ranging from a couple to several hundred dollars a month.
Social Media, in and of itself, is not a marketing solution.
It’s only one part of a strategic marketing program.
Results won’t happen overnight.
You’ll get board of seeing and reading your stuff long before your potential clients ever will.
Be consistent. Be patient.
The payoff will come.
