•We can appreciate the value of tools today.
•How does this apply to you? Romans 6:13
•We are the instruments of righteousness!
•What kind of tool are you? Ephesians 6:6
3. Are You A Battering Ram?
•As tools in God’s service we are to
break down barriers that are keeping
others away from God.
Ephesians 4:15; John 14:15
•The evil one is trying to barricade
souls behind a wall of error. Mt. 22:39
•God has given His truth to break
down those barriers and free its
captives. John 8:32
4. Are You A Crowbar?
•We need spiritual crowbars!
•There are things that we need to pull
away from… James 4:4, 8
•There are things we should
separate from our thinking.
•There are things we should
separate from our lifestyles.
5. Are You A Chisel?
•A chisel does detailed work.
•It has a variety of uses.
•Do you have the tenacity and trust
needed to use God’s word to remake
you life? 2 Corinthians 3:18
•Other chisels can work on you too.
Galatians 4:19
6. Are You A Level?
•Levels are used to determine
whether something is true or on the
level as it ought to be.
•It will determine the truth as to enable
corrective action to be taken in the
matter.
•We live in a dishonest and corrupt
world. Isaiah 5:20
•People can find in us a reliable
standard of right and wrong as we
reflect God’s word! 2 Cor. 13:5
7. Are You A Plane?
•A plane makes rough surfaces
smooth by moving it repetitiously back
and forth across the surface.
•John the immerser’s work… Mt. 3:3
•We are followers of Jesus. 1 Pet.2:21
•We forge a safe path for others to
follow.
•We need to be able to say
with Paul… Philippians 4:9
8. Are You A Magnet?
•A magnet is an object that draws and
holds another object disposed to such
attraction.
•Are you a spiritual magnet?
•By living like Jesus we can draw
people to Him. John 12:32; Mk. 16:15-16
9. Conclusion:
•Paul also used the examples of tools
or weapons when writing to the
Corinthians. 2 Corinthians 6:7; 10:4
•Both cases are figurative but with
them we can help shape and build
up those around us!
•God’s plan for saving man:
•Hear and believe… Acts 18:8
•Repent of sin… Acts 3:19
•Confess Christ… Romans 10:9-10
•Baptism into Christ… Romans 6:3-4
