Welcome to the friends of lifeworks first newsletter April/
May 2016. We want to offer our service to all Yorkshire
Housing customers so we can support you to access the
community promoting choice and inclusion and enabling you
to learn and develop new skills, access health and leisure
activities and socialize and meet new friends.
We will be out speaking with you all to find out what you
would like and then we want to make it happen. Each
newsletter will have our up and coming sessions so look out
and book your place or express your interest.

4. My name is Ashton my nickname is Ash. I
am 22 years old and my birthday is the 5th
of May. I come from Fairweather Green. I
am part of the journalism group my role is
reporting activities by taking photographs
of things we get up to.
Here’s a bit about me:
My favourite colour is Red, my favourite
animal is my Labrador, and my favourite
film is frozen. I enjoy camping, chilling
with my mates and eating chips with pizza

5. Michael Steadman, I am 27 and I live at John
Gaffney home. I like sports. I used to play
football, tennis, cricket, golf, bowling & target
range and now I play rugby but I hurt my leg. I
still play football now and then on the side.

I work in Bradford at the British heart
foundation furniture shop.

My name is Mark Richardson, my friends call
me Marky/ Squeaky. I am 30 years old my
Birthday is the 16th
of October. I was born in
Bradford I attend lifeworks 3 times a week. My
role in the journalism group is the
photographer. I like doing building work and
cleaning. I like coming to lifeworks because I
like working with the lads and we have a good
laugh. My favourite colour is orange, my
favourite food is pie and chips, my favourite holiday is France and my
favourite film is James Bond. I also like Black rabbits and going on bike
rides.
6. We’ve been busy so far this
year at lifeworks! We’ve had so
much going on and interesting
places to visit that there isn’t
enough space to show you
everything! So here’s a few
pictures about what we’ve been

On Wednesday 30th
march we got a visit from the West Yorkshire fire service. The
customers have a great time learning all about fire safety in the home and in
general. We also had a chance to dress up and have some fun! Next stop- police
service
Mini chefs in the making!
Every week on a Friday a
group of eight budding chefs
attend classes at Jamie Oliver’s
ministry of food. They learn to
make amazing new foods
every week and really enjoy it
(especially when they get to eat
it at the end) they look
forward to getting their
certificates in two weeks!
