Social media has reshaped politics and changed the relationship between governments and citizens. It has moved from a one-way information system where governments provided information and occasionally asked for feedback, to a two-way system where citizens can engage directly with politicians and shape political discussions. Social media enables greater authenticity, transparency, and accountability between governments and the public through new forms of direct communication and relationship building.
