3. WORKING OF THE CAR JACK The car jack basically work on the conservation of the motion. The car jack converts the rotary motion into the translatory motion. The car jack is operated by turning the leadscrew of the jack by some lever mechanism. The jacks compressive force is obtained through the tensile force applied by its lead screw. Acme or trapezoidal thread is generally used in the leadscrew as this is very strong and can resists the large load imposed on it .
