He has taught nursing and other health administration and business courses at the undergraduate- and graduate-levels. David has had a long career as a health professional (registered nurse), educator, and administrator. Recently, he retired from the U.S. Public Health Service completing 42 years of government service (active and reserve). Most recently he served as a Deputy Executive Officer at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Some of his other assignments include: Director of the Commissioned Corps Academy, Senior Policy Analyst in the Bureau of Primary Health Care Office of Quality, Deputy Director in the Bureau of Health Professions Division of Health Careers Diversity and Development, and Nursing Bureau Chief in the Arlington Health Division of the Virginia Department of Health.David graduated with a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a specialization in healthcare administration from Northcentral University in Prescott, AZ. He also earned degrees in nursing and health administration and is certified as a public health administrator and emergency response coordinator responding to greater ten national disasters, including the 9/11 attacks on Washington, Dc and New York, hurricane Katrina, and numerous other hurricanes and ice storms.
