We have been busy all winter long
preparing for the 2012 summer camp
season with exciting improvements
and general sprucing up in anticipation
of eager Scouts arriving at camp to
have the time of their lives!
4. We’ve Been Busy at Bert Adams
Getting Ready for You!
• Enhanced convenience with new parking in Gorman
• Improved access with road improvements in Gorman
and Emerson
• Enhanced safety, connectivity and program support with
addition of new cell tower
• Improved Unit support with new campfire rings, seating
and flagpoles in Adventure Camp
• Enhanced program support with AV and other
improvements to Bill Loeble Room
• Repainting of Health Lodge interior
8. Safety was the Primary Consideration
when installing the Cell Tower
• The Goal is to maximize reception throughout
our camps so that Emergency calls could get
through regardless of where the activity is
occurring.
• Reliable communication is essential to Scout
Safety especially in an emergency where
response time is critical.
• The Council Health and Safety Committee is a
strong proponent of this effort.
10. Connectivity was a main consideration
for locating the Cell Tower
• Leaders have asked for improved connectivity in
order to stay in touch with home and business
while at camp.
• More and more of today’s leaders must base their
decision to attend camp on their ability to remain
connected to their work and home.
• Connectivity is an essential support to the leader of
today and tomorrow and Atlanta is leading the way.

safety enhancement.
