MyHealthProfile, a web-based personal health record developed by RDE Systems and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, was recently selected as a finalist in New York State's Patient Portal Design Challenge. The project grew out of a Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS) grant from the Health Resources Services Administration's (HRSA).
MyHealthProfile was originally designed with the goal of helping people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) to become empowered about their health, so despite its uncomplicated design, it is capable of displaying and organizing health information relating to multiple chronic conditions. MyHealthProfile was designed for use by consumers over the full spectrum of health literacy and technical skill, so its design is straightforward and intuitive. Health information is presented in a user-friendly way that’s easily understood. The graphics are uncluttered and the functionality is not overly complicated. MyHealthProfile is easy to use, on a computer or mobile device.
