- 4. Marina City Gallery Gray models represent existing buildings while white ones represent those in development and future ones. The Urban Development Authority, Marina Bay Singapore, Government development Plus changed Marina Bay to a leisure entertainment and business district. Marina Bay’s development ensures good quality housing, increase population, bring the population back to the city and help shape the future of Singapore.

Marina City Gallery (II) Planned as a seamless extension of the Central Business District Divide a sense of orientation Can be made more vibrant by the NDP and international plans like F1 racing , and through stakeholders and the community. Provided an alternative source of entertainment for everyone
- 6. Clifford Pier In the past: Used to be a landing port for sea farers and immigrants Currently : Changed into a place for entertainment and leisure as well as a source of tourist attraction to boost Singapore’s economy. Helps to maintain Singapore’s competitiveness globally
- 7. Underground MRT station The government has came up with the idea of underground shops and high rise buildings to overcome the limited land constraint in Singapore. This is linked to the principal of good governance- anticipating change and staying relevant. The government hired professionals to plan our country’s infrastructures and resulted in our country’s development today. Our country’s economic prosperity was thanks to our government’s great foresight is great leadership
- 8. Marina Bay Sands There are local brands that have expanded overseas such as SingTel and Robinsons. Other local brands such as Gongcha have not expanded overseas mainly due to its age in the economy. The MBS has to depend more on services in order to open up to the world and improve tourism and provide jobs. These help ensure the economic prosperity of Singapore.

Innovative structures/ideas Motion Sensor fans near the Central Business District (CBD) Innovative structures like motion sensor fans help to conserve the usage of energy by switching itself off when no movement is detected Another example of innovative structures or rather idea is the planting of trees along the pavement The MBS worked with local as well as foreign investors to set up shops in the MBS.
- 10. Good governance How does this relate to good governance? “Leadership is key” is the main factor to help boost Singapore’s economy. By having great foresight and the ability to anticipate change and staying relevant, our government has worked with MNCs to invest in Singapore
- 11. Good Governance (II) By anticipating change and staying relevant, our government has implemented the installations of devices like the motion sensor lights and fans in school toilets. This helps save energy and in turn save costs and resources. Electricity is also generated through solar cells found at the top of the fan and thus reduce energy usage.

Good governance(III) Through ‘A stake for everyone, opportunities for all’ ,the government considered the thoughts and feelings of locals and acted accordingly by implementing these measures… $100 levi for entering the casino Another implementation is the banning of family members who happened to be addicted to gambling

Careful management and optimism of limited resources through a term comprehensive to planning Adopting a green technology ,systems and practices to achieve environmental sustainability Achieving a balance between development and providing a good quality of life whilst preserving the environment

Conclusion Overall, Singapore’s development and economic prosperity is linked to our government’s great leadership and interrelated with the principals of governance, like the development of the Marina Bay Sands which greatly boosted Singapore’s economy and resulted in our country’s prosperity by increasing tourism and creating employment
