2. Mountains ranges
 Most mountains are formed when the plates push
together, forcing the land into fold mountains.
 This is why mountains often are in long lines, or ranges.
 When air is blown from the sea onto a mountain
range it forces it to rise.

3. Mountains Levels
 When higher up a mountain you go, the colder it gets.
 Because the higher air is thinner, so it can store less
heat.

4. Animals
 Few species live on the windy peaks
 Mountain goats and sheep graze live on the grassy rocky
slopes.
 Below the grassy rocky slopes , there is a tree line, it is
warm enough for trees to grow.

5. Adaptation
 Mountain species are adapted to surviving in cold
temperatures and strong winds.
 Mountain plants grow close to the ground and have deep
roots.
 Mountains animals have large lungs for extracting
enough oxygen from the air.
