1. The abuse and trafficking of humans
is truly a human rights violation
2. Everyday all around the world
women, teenage girls, and
children are being sold or forced
into trafficking. They are
separated from their families,
raped, abused, and sometimes left
for dead with no way to escape
except to survive another day. The
three types of human trafficking
are; organ harvesting, sex
trafficking and labor trafficking.
3. Illegal Organ
Harvesting-
“Organ harvesting refers to
the practice of removing
usable organs from someone
who is dead so that they can
be transplanted into someone
else”.
Organ harvesting is done
without the victims consent.
Many are captured and
violently killed only to
harvest their organs and use
them for small profits.
4. Sex Trafficking
“Sex trafficking occurs when people are
forced or coerced into the commercial sex
trade against their will. Child sex trafficking
includes any child involved in commercial
sex. Sex traffickers frequently target
vulnerable people with histories of abuse and
then use violence, threats, lies, false promises,
debt bondage, or other forms of control and
manipulation to keep victims involved in the
sex industry”
5. Labor
Trafficking
“Labor trafficking is a form
of modern-day slavery in
which individuals perform
labor or services through the
use of force, fraud, or
coercion. Labor trafficking
includes situations of debt
bondage, forced labor, and
involuntary child labor. While
this type of trafficking is not
specific to any geographic
region or population, the
materials below discuss two
very prevalent forms of labor
trafficking in the U.S.”
6. Human trafficking takes place all
over the world; the areas with the
most severe cases are: “Southeast
Asia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand,
India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan
and Sri Lanka, Russian Federation,
Ukraine, and Moldova”
The FBI estimates that as many as
18,000 victims are trafficked into
the US each year from all over the
world.
There are not many to no laws in
the United States that protect
victims of or even fight against
human trafficking.
It is almost impossible to keep track
of how many victims there are in
each country in which all the facts
and numbers of persons involved in
human trafficking will always be an
estimate.
7. One of the main problem is that
many women and children are not
given the proper care. Particularly
health care assistances that are
greatly needed. A lot of victims
are overlooked and so they go
without aid because they fear
being hurt or perhaps killed by
their trafficker. Most times,
victims are not only scarred for
their own lives but more so for the
lives of their families, which is
often times the main reason they
are in the trafficking trade to begin
with.
8. With a policy in
effect…
The effect of a policy would deliver more
victims with individual care for their health
concerns and provide them better health.
The policy would help stop the spread of
human trafficking victims.
As well as the number of individuals
receiving free healthcare benefits because of
this problem would increase & the number of
people being trafficked would decrease.
