Australian Sport System

3. This unit serves as an introduction to the principal
administrative structures responsible for the delivery of
sport in Australia. These structures are then compared to
those in other countries. An overview of how policies,
objectives and plans are identified, developed and
implemented in sport is also provided.
4. Learning Outcomes for this Unit
๏ Know the structure and delivery of sport in Australia and some other
countries.
๏ Know major issues confronting Australian sport.
๏ Know how policies are developed, objectives set and plans implemented by
government and non-government agencies.
๏ Know the skills required to gain employment in the sport industry.
