14. NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
For the Year ended 30 September 2009
1. STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The financial statements are for the Ponsonby District Rugby Football Club Inc which is incorporated under the
Incorporated Societies Act 1908. The financial statements of the Club have been prepared according to generally
accepted accounting practice.
The accounting principles recognised as appropriate for the measurement and reporting of earnings and financial position
on a historical cost basis have been used, with the exception of certain items for which specific accounting policies have
been identified.
(a) Changes in Accounting Policies
There have been no changes in accounting policies. All policies have been applied on bases consistent with those used in
the previous year.
(b) Fixed Assets and Depreciation
All fixed assets are recorded at cost or valuation less accumulated depreciation. Depreciation rates are as those disclosed
in note 3.
(c) Goods and Services Tax
The financial statements have been prepared on a GST exclusive basis.
(d) Inventories
Inventories are recognised at the lower of cost, determined on a first in first out basis, and net realisable value.
(e) Receivables
Receivables are stated at their estimated realisable value.
