World Cup 2010

WASHINGTON, October 3, 2013 – Although South Africa has achieved substantial tourism success, deepening and sustaining that success in the face of global competition is a constant challenge, according to a new report released today. Tourism in Africa: Harnessing Tourism for Growth and Improved Livelihoods, explores how tourism has been used as a tool for economic development throughout the world, and how Sub-Saharan African countries can start or continue to use tourism as a source of growth and poverty alleviation. Written primarily for government state, and local policy makers, potential investors and other stakeholders, the report provides an objective analysis of the tourism industry, its economic value and its potential.

The Global Change Research Network in European Mountains (MRI Europe) In the Alpine Space project COMUNIS (co-financed by the ERDF), eleven partners from Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Slovenia aim at facilitating the strategic steering of commercial location development (CLD) on the inter-municipal level. To this end, the location profile, the degree of inter-municipal cooperation, and the framework conditions for commercial land use management were examined in eight pilot areas. On the basis of best practice examples and theoretical models, strategy options of inter-municipal CLD were developed and examined for applicability with regard to the situation and development objectives of the pilot areas.

Suite à l'obtention d'un Master en ingénierie commerciale et management de projet 100% anglais, au sein de l'INSEEC Business School à Lyon, je vous fait part de mon mémoire qui traite de l'impact du sport sur le développement de l'Afrique. Ce sujet est issu d'un mélange de passion, de mondialisation, d'ouverture, d'interrogations et d'enjeux économiques. Saviez-vous que l'Afrique du Sud est le seul pays africain à avoir organisé une coupe du monde de football ? Saviez-vous que, jamais, une ville africaine n'a été l'hôte des Jeux Olympiques ? Saviez-vous que pour une compétition équivalente, une nation du football européen va gagner 6,75 fois plus qu'une nation africaine ? Dans un même temps, les pays européens sont les plus gros importateurs de talents du monde, tant dis que le Nigéria, à lui seul, comptait 334 joueurs expatriés à l'échelle mondiale mi-2020, dont 165 d'entre eux en Europe (présence dans 65% des associations de football dans le monde). Ces éléments nous donnent une idée sur les disparités continentales, mais ne nous expliquent pas pourquoi celles-ci ont lieu. Bien sur, ce mémoire consiste en une analyse du pourquoi, du comment, ces différences se sont créées dans le sport, mais il suggère également des solutions comme l'instauration de programmes de talents en Afrique et la mise en avant du sport féminin pour avoir un impact sur le continent et mieux exploiter son potentiel global. Par ailleurs, je souhaite remercier ceux qui ont contribué de près à la réalisation de ce mémoire grâce à leurs connaissances et professionnalisme.
