Hi Katharine,
Hope 2013 is treating you very well. I am excited that Abby is coming to SEA. She & her sister
are great girls and Abby has wanted to attend for a long time. Aidan considered applying to the
high school program last summer but he was still a bit immature and was kind of finding his
own way. Can’t blame him; he is growing up with 2 strong willed, opinionated parents. I love
the program so much and his dad would be too, too joyful if Aidan became interested in sailing
and the oceans. (He spent his 20’s and 30’s working in Woods Hole and sailing Hinckleys.) So,
right on schedule he is a bit of a rebel. Also, kind, smart, funny and wise beyond his years when
the need arises.
Now that my little rebel is maturing (and not so little any longer) I am in the process making
changes myself. I feel it’s time begin to looking for a position back in New England. While it’s
nice to think my work has done some real good in small ways for our students and faculty here,
I really miss the commitment and engagement that I felt to SEA and from of you. Watching the
website whenever possible I know SEA has not had any administrative positions for quite some
time. If changes are considered in the future, however, I hope you will please keep me in mind.
To begin the process I am compiling my references and reaching out to friends and family in the
area. So hopefully, in the not too distant future you may be asked to give me a reference
beyond the great letter you were kind enough to give me.
