password. Then

Points to Note
If you misspell either your username and password you will not be able to log on
to the LMS
The password is case sensitive

To customize your user profile
go to the tab labelled settings.
After which you will click on the
text titled “Edit profile”

This option enables you
to change your
password. The unmask
option enables you to
view the characters you
are typing in.
This area enables you to
type in a brief bio about
yourself.

Important Points to Note
Once you have introduced yourself to other participants you can view what
they have posted by going back to “News Forum” and “Welcome to the
efacilitation course”
The “News Forum” can also be used to post announcements to students much
like a notice board
The course administrator can act as moderator and block all introductions
until he has gone through them before making them visible to the class

you can either click on “save and

discussion topic that
has been added click
on “Add a new
discussion topic”
29. PRACTICAL EXERCISE: CREATE A FORUM
Now that you have learnt how to create a forum. Go to your LMS and create a
forum for discussion using either of the following topics:
Challenges that you face as a tutor
Experiences using ICT in facilitation
32. COLLABORATIVE FACILITIES: CHAT
Just like in
forums you
will need to add
a topic. And a
description of the
chat session
Once you are through with
adding the details above
click on “Save and display”
33. COLLABORATIVE FACILITIES: CHAT
Once you have created the
chat session. You will be able
to view details pertaining to the
Chat session you have created.
34. COLLABORATIVE FACILITIES: CHAT
Note:
There is a difference between clicking on “Save and Display” and “Save and
return to course”. “Save and Display” shows the individual chat session that
you created, whereas “Save and return to course” displays the list of all chat
sessions that have been added.
35. PRACTICAL SESSION: ADD A CHAT SESSION
Add a chat session with either of the following topics:
Your level of confidence so far related to efacilitation
The state of ICT infrastructure in your province
Note
In order to join a chat session you have to click on “enter chat now” under the
particular topic of interest to you.
40. COLLABORATIVE FACILITIES: BLOGS
In this area you will type
in key words that will help
people look for the content
related to the blog
Click on save
changes
41. PRACTICAL EXERCISE: ADDING A BLOG
Add a blog entry writing about an interesting event or place you visited recently
