out: change is afoot with the Medical Council of India upping its
vigilance on the slimy practices that drug companies use to get doctors
to push their pills. And the change isn't exactly positive. Drug
companies which used to sponsor trips of doctors and their families to
all sorts of exotic locales have now adopted a different tack.
Apparently, foreign trips left an uncomfortable paper trail: visas, tickets
etc. So, now doctors will be rewarded differently: an Apple phone for
surgeon A, a fancy LED television set for surgeon B and so on. Perhaps,
