WS NSW Junior Wheelies Christmas Camp 2010
Background on the Camp
Camp 2010 is a multi sports camp for junior wheelies aged 8-18 years with a physical disability. The purpose of this live-in style
Camp is to provide juniors with opportunities for personal development, enhanced social skills and sports skill development
through team building activities with other participants, sports coaching clinics and social activities with peers.
The Camp is run by a team of dedicated WS NSW volunteers, with sports sessions run by a number of Sydney Academy of
Sport Activity Instructors and elite WS NSW athletes and coaches.
Venue:
Camp 2010 will be held at Sydney Academy of Sport & Recreation, Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen NSW.
The Complex offers a range of state of the art facilities on-site including Motel accommodation, Athletics track, Tennis courts,
Indoor multi-sports centre, Aquatic centre (heated pool), Archery range, and Picnic areas
Camp Staff:
Camp ‘10 will be fully staffed by a Camp Director, Camp Nurse, Sports Academy Activity Staff, and WS NSW Endorsed
Volunteer Staff (Sports coach / carers).
Expressions of Interest for Camp Volunteers are now being taken. Any parents / guardians of junior members (particularly
regional members) who are interested to volunteer as a Camp Helper for the Full Camp are to contact Kerri at WS NSW.

Camp Entry:
There are 2 options for attending Camp 2010:
1. Full Camp Fri, Sat and Sun
$50 per participant
Fee inclusions:
Scheduled activities for the 3 days
x2 nights onsite accommodation
Campers Pack (Shirt, Cap and Bag)
All meals (breakfasts, lunches and dinners)
2. Partial Camp Sat or Sun (daytime) only
$20 / day per participant
Fee inclusions:
Scheduled activities on nominated day
Campers Pack (Shirt, Cap and Bag)
Lunch on the day
Please note: Parents / Guardians are to organise own transport arrangements to and from venue at own cost.
Age Restrictions
Full Camp:
Participants must be a minimum of 10yrs old to attend. Full campers stay overnight for 2 nights.
Partial Camp:
Participants must be a minimum of 8yrs old to attend. Partial campers under 10yrs of age must be accompanied by a
parent/carer for their full day/s of attendance. Partial campers do not stay overnight.
Participant Arrival / Departure:
Arrival and Registration:
Upon arrival on Friday 10 December, all participants are to be signed in by their parent / guardian at the Registration Desk
between 4pm - 5pm at Lecture Room 1 - Sydney Academy of Sport. Parent / Guardians are to confirm pick-up arrangements
during this time.
Conclusion and Departure:
Camp 2010 will conclude at 2pm on Sunday 12 December. Participants MUST be picked-up between 2pm – 3pm from
basketball stadium - Sydney Academy of Sport. Parent / guardians must see Camp Staff to sign-out their child.
Camp 2010 Schedule:
On Day 1, participants are introduced to their Camp Team (of 5-10 campers). Teams will each be designated a Team Leader to
lead them through a come’n’try and coaching sessions in all WS NSW wheelchair sports, a variety of other sporting and
recreational activities, and special events including:
Archery, Athletics, Basketball, Canoeing, Cricket, Christmas Karaoke, Christmas Craft, Handcycling, Indoor Lawn Bowls,
Powerlifting, Rugby (modified), Swimming, ‘No Talent’ Time (talent quest), Table Tennis, Team Games & Challenges, Track
and Field, Wheelchair Tennis, …And much more!

All activities will be supervised by a minimum x2 WS NSW staff members / Sydney Academy of Sport activity instructors /

What to bring…
FULL CAMPERS
As this camp is a live-in arrangement, all FULL CAMPERS need to bring the following:
Towels (x2)
Toiletries
Suitable clothing for 3 days of physical activity (comfortable clothing, Sports clothing, Warm clothing)
Medication (clearly labelled with name and dosage)
Hat, Drink bottle, Sunscreen, Insect repellant
Swimming costume and Towel
Christmassy clothes for Christmas Karaoke night
Something funny for your Team’s skit for ‘No Talent Time’
A CRAZY HAT for the mad-hatter competition. Bring one you already have or make one! Prizes will be given to
the most outrageous, unique and creative hats…
Sports chairs (if have your own basketball / tennis / track chair etc…)
PARTIAL CAMPERS

Personal belongings (such as I-pods, mobile phones and cameras) are brought to the Camp at participants own risk.
No responsibility will be taken by Camp staff for lost / stolen goods.

PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT
WS NSW expects that all participants attending Camp 2010 to:
1. Whilst participating, obey and respect any direction given by Camp 2010 staff, officials and volunteers
2. I will obey ALL rules set out by Camp Director.
3. Refrain from using offensive or abusive language.
4. Dress in appropriate attire at all times, (travelling to/from and whilst participating in any activity)
5. Conduct themselves in a manner not to discredit themselves, WS NSW or other participants
6. Mum or Dad will drop me off and pick me up at the designated times, and leave me to have fun with my new friends.
I have read and understand the Code of Conduct conditions, and agree to abide by them. I understand that failure to adhere to
the above conditions (by a Junior member or Parent) will result in my removal from camp followed by a 1 year ban from all
Junior Program activities.

WS NSW PARTICIPANT INDEMNITY
This waiver must be signed by (on behalf of) all participants
1. I, whose signature appears on the bottom hereof in consideration of and as a condition of acceptance of my
participation in the Junior Wheelies Christmas Camp 2010 for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators
hereby waive all and any claim, right of cause of action which I or they might otherwise have for or arising out of loss
of my life or injury, damage or loss of any description whatsoever, which I may suffer or sustain in the course of or
consequent upon my entry or participation in the above event. I will abide by the Competition/ activity rules governing
these events/programs.
2. This waiver, release and discharge shall be and operate separately in favour of all persons, corporations and bodies
involved or otherwise engaged in the promoting or staging of the event and the servants agents; representatives and
officers of any of them and includes, but is not limited to Wheelchair Sports NSW Inc., Event Sponsors, Producers,
Directors, Volunteers and Officials.
3. I attest that I am physically fit and have sufficient training for competition of the entered events.
4. I consent to receive medical treatment, which may be advisable in the event of illness or injuries suffered by me
during this event.
5. I give permission for the free use of my name, voice or picture in any broadcast, telecast, advertising promotion or
other account of this event or the Association.
6. Should the junior withdraw for any reason I understand that entry / participation fees will not be refunded and that no
liability of any kind will be attacedh to any person, corporation or body involved or otherwise engaged in promoting or
staging of the event.
7. Safety precautions undertaken by qualified officials / program organisers are a service to me and other competitors /
participants but are not a guarantee of safety. I agree to abide by the conditions of the events / program as stated in
the declaration above and upon literature and other material distributed in connection with the event / program.
