5. Meaning of market :- The word market is derived from the Latin word ‘markets’. The meaning is to trade. Market relates with the particular where transactions are made that is buying and selling. Market means a place or geographical area where buyers and sellers meet. Goods and services are offered for sale and transfer of ownership occurs The terms market however is used differently in economics and management.
6. Market from economics point of view :- In economics sense market does not refer to a place or geographical area where goods and services are exchanged, but market means the point where total demand and supply are equals.
7. Market from management point of view :- In this, market neither means a place nor commodity but a “social institution conforming the work of a middleman, transfer agent, warehouse etc. in other words market means the totality of those who are benefited from producers product or services and those who can attend to buy.
8. Meaning of marketing :- In simple words marketing means “the art of selling” it deals with theskills of “satisfying the customers”. It helps to reach the flows of goods and services from producers to consumers. Now a day’s marketing is playing an ideal role in business.
