Enable Mobile Apps Designer in OBIEE
1. Enable Mobile App Designer in OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1
Oracle Allow you now to create Report using OBIEE for Mobile/Tablets, But to do this you have to
upgrade OBIEE to 11.1.1.7.1 I already blog about it, you can check the post from here.
After your upgrade your OBIEE successfully you have to follow some steps to enable mobile App, and to
do this you have to download two patches:
1st: 17004920
This patch includes updates to enable support of Oracle BI Mobile App Designer in the Oracle BI
Enterprise Edition web catalog and user interface.
2nd: 17220944
BI Mobile Patch.
The patches available only on http://support.oracle.com

Step #1:
Stop All OBIEE Services, for AdminServer use stopWeblogic.sh and opmnctl stopall for OBIEE instance.
Step #2:
It’s Better to take backup for OBIEE,PRD and catalog.
Step #3:
Upload the downloaded patches to the server and unzip them.
Step #4:
Set your Environment Variable like the below:
[oracle@SERVER-OBIEE#]export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/fmw/Oracle_BI1/
[oracle@SERVER-OBIEE#]export JAVA_HOME=/u01/app/fmw/Oracle_BI1/jdk
[oracle@SERVER-OBIEE#]export MY_PATCH=/share/Patch/
[oracle@SERVER-OBIEE#]
export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/OPatch:$JAVA_HOME/bin:$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH
Step #5:
Apply the Patch using the below command:
opatch napply –silent $MY_PATCH –id 17004920, 17220944
The Final Output should be
Optach Finish Successfully.

Now if you tried to run AdminServer,Managed Server and instance Services mobile App will not be
appearing in OBIEE Dashboard, Follow the below Steps :
Post Installation OBIEE Mobile Patch:
Remember to make sure all the services must be off.
Step #1:
Extend BI Domain to enable mobile app by Deploy BI-MAD.

Choose where your domain location is:
After this screen you have to choose Extend with Template, the template location located in
<MW-HOME>/Oracle_BI1/common/templates/applications/
Till you reach this location chooses the below:
oracle.bimad_template_11.1.1.jar

Step #2:
Update Security Configuration for OBIEE, in this step you have to start AdminServer for OBIEE using
startWeblogic.sh.
Security File located : <MW-HOME>/Oracle_BI1/bifoundation/install
For OBIEE Location <MW_HOME>/Oracle_BI1/common/bin/ run wlst.sh
./wlst.sh <MW-HOME>/Oracle_BI1/bifoundation/install/addMADCodeGrants.py
t3://DOMAIN-IP:7001 weblogic
Enter the password after this
Warning: An insecure protocol was used to connect to the
server. To ensure on-the-wire security, the SSL port or
Admin port should be used instead.
Location changed to domainRuntime tree. This is a read-only tree with DomainMBea
n as the root.

Step #3:
Start bi Server using Admin Server Console , and Enter to Analytics by Default and opmnctl startall
http://Domain-Server-ip:9704/Analytics
Login to Dashboard using Administrator User.
Step #4:
Create Apps Library Folder in Catalog.

Step #5:
Create New Folder under Shared Folder Called it “Mobile Apps Library”
And make sure the permission is correct on this folder like the below.

Step #6:
Step-up the Configuration file and to do this:
Open the xmlp-server-config.xml file. It is located under
<DOMAIN_HOME>/config/bipublisher/repository/Admin/Configuration.
And the below line
<property name="APPS_LIBRARY_FOLDER_LOCAL" value="/Apps Library"/>
Step #7:
Restart The BI Server included with Instance.
Congratulation you are done check the below.
