3. Open Access
Open-Access-Publikationen liegen
digital, online, kostenfrei und
frei von den meisten urheberrechtlichen und
Lizenz-Beschränkungen (permission barriers) vor.
Ermöglicht wird dies durch das Internet und die
Zustimmung des Urhebers oder Rechteinhabers.

4. Warum Open Access?
Höhere Sichtbarkeit der Forschungsergebnisse
Höhere Nutzungszahlen und potentiell steigende
Zitationsraten
Schneller Zugang zu Publikationen und damit ggf.
Beschleunigung von Entdeckungsprozessen
Einfache Erstellung & Aktualisierung von
Publikationslisten (z.B. für Berichte, Anträge)
Einfache Erfüllung von OA-Policies der
Forschungsförderer (EC, ERC, DFG,
VW Stiftung u.a.)
4 LAK 2011-05-09
6. Varianten von Open Access
Bereitstellung in Open-Access-Repositorien (“Grüner Weg”)
= Hochladen des finalen Autorenmanuskriptes (vom Autor
formatiert, mit allen Änderungen nach der Begutachtung)
auf eine digitale Plattform (Repositorium/Repository)
Open-Acccess-Publizieren (“Goldener Weg”) = Zeitschrift
publiziert alle Inhalte Open Access
Autoren/Institutionen zahlen ggf. Publikationsgebühren
(aus Forschungsmitteln, Publikationsfonds der Institution/
Bibliothek,…)
Open-Access-Optionen (“Hybrides OA”) = artikelweise
Freischaltung gegen Gebühr (i.d.R. Abonnements parallel)
Beispiele: Springer, Blackwell, Thieme u.v.a.

16. FP7 Open Access Pilot
Launched in August 2008, will run until the
end of FP7 (2013)
Special Clause 39 (SC39), part of the Grant
Agreement with the EC, requires
beneficiaries to:
“deposit peer reviewed research articles
or final manuscripts resulting from their
FP7 projects into an online repository and
make their best efforts to ensure open
access to these articles”*
16
* - immediately if the scientific publication is published “open access“, i.e. if an electronic version is
also available free of charge via the publisher, or
- within 6 months in the thematic areas Health, Energy, Environment (including Climate Change),
Information & communication technologies and Research infrastructures (e-infrastructures) and
12 months in the thematic areas Socio-economic Sciences and the Humanities and Science in
Society. LAK 2011-05-09
17. ERC OA Guidelines
December 2006 – ERC Scientific Council's Statement on Open Access:
– fundamental importance of peer-review in ensuring the certification
and dissemination of high-quality scientific research
– the importance of wide access and efficient dissemination of
research results.
December 2007 – ERC Guidelines for Open Access:
– The ERC requires that all peer-reviewed publications from ERC-
funded research projects be deposited on publication into an
appropriate research repository where available or an institutional
repository, and subsequently made Open Access within 6 months
of publication.
– The ERC considers essential that primary data are deposited to the
relevant databases as soon as possible, preferably immediately after
publication and in any case not later than 6 months after the date
of publication.

22. Workflow: Publizieren &
Open Access bereit stellen – II
1. Artikel einreichen bei einer Zeitschrift eigener
Wahl.
– Begleitschreiben und Amendment zum
Verlagsvertrag beifügen.
– Ggf. weitergehende Rechte vereinbaren
(Creative-Commons-Lizenz)
2. Finales Autorenmanuskript hochladen (PDF der
eigenen finalen Version wie nach der
Begutachtung beim Verlag eingereicht oder ggf.
Verlagsversion, falls dies der Verlag gestattet) in
– das institutionelle Repositorium oder ein
fachliches Repositorium falls verfügbar, oder
– das OpenAIRE Orphan Repositorium

27. Wie können Sie als EU-Büro
unterstützen?
Bei der Antragstellung auf die Möglichkeit der Erstattung von
Publikationskosten hinweisen (ins Budget aufnehmen!).
Open-Access-Policies erwachsende Verpflichtung hinweisen
(Hilfsmittel: Flyer, SC39 Starter Kit, Informationen & Helpdesk auf
www.openaire.eu)
Mit der Bibliothek Kontakt aufnehmen und diese um Unterstützung
bitten
– Unterstützung der Wissenschaftler bei der Bereitstellung auf dem
Repositorium (einschl. Unterstützung bei der Klärung von
Urheberrechtsfragen)
– Umsetzung technischer Anforderungen an das Repositorium
(„OpenAIRE-compliance“), damit OpenAIRE die Daten einsammeln
kann
