Activities/Duties
Responsible for Radio Network Optimization of 3G WCDMA HSPA+ and 2G network and
ensure that all the Radio Network KPIs based on RAN Stats and Drive Test analysis are
constantly met as predefined by the client.
Automatic Frequency Planning (AFP) implementation to reduce Interference and drops.
Analyze high congestion cells with respect to UL/DL Power, Code, UL/DL CEs and UL/DL IUB,
provide solutions and propose expansion where possible
Analyze and diagnoses of high RTWP cells, and troubleshoot external/internal interference by
scanning frequency in LMT Node B. Propose solution if RTWP is caused by genuine traffic
Issues diagnose like PS/CS abnormal call releases, HSDPA/HSUPA Low throughput and
RRC/RAB establishments through OSS stats, NASTAR Cell level Analysis, call history records.
2. Analyzing/testing IRAT handovers between 3G and 2G, HSPA+ functionalities for new
RNCs/BSC.
Network Parameters Tuning.
Analysis of Network Performance statistics (KPIs) day to day basis and resolving the problems by
taking necessary actions on it.
Mapping drive 3G/2G drive test data with perditions and propose physical optimization changes
to improve coverage and quality.
Optimization and weekly monitoring of worst performing cells through weekly reports on the
basis of Network Key Performance Indicator(KPI).Major KPIs including TCH Drop Rate, CSSR,
HOSR, SDCCH/TCH Blocking rate etc. to improve network quality
2G & 3G Feature review and implementation to improve network performance
Traffic forecast analysis, to make recommendation for proper network capacity planning and
optimization.
Perform series of meetings with client “Network Providers” to implement features that will
improve network performance and maintain stability.
Defining neighbor strategy between different technologies.

Providing/Implementing solutions like Antenna Modification, Tilting, Azimuth, Heights,
Retuning of BSS parameters and features like Frequency Hopping, AMR, Directed Retry,
CBCCH, Dual BCCH, HO control, Power control, Traffic Load Sharing, Adjacencies etc.
Analyzing the causes of Handover Failures, TCH Drop, Interference (Co-Channel / Adjacent).
Region optimization by parameter tuning, capacity optimization and hardware troubleshooting to
meet KPI target.
Monitoring major KPIs and recommendation list preparation for worst performing cells, observe
the impact of modification after implementation and reporting using RNO tool.
Prioritize customer complaints and provide a solution, recommendation within the agreed time
frame.
Daily Worst performing cell analysis and provide solution, also escalation of operational issues to
concerned department.
Maintain standards 2G parameter rules on all radio database parameters.
2G Drive test for troubleshooting purposes and benchmarking.
