There is no objective way to make a diagnosis of mental illnesses, unlike other disease.  is based on :  -observations of behavior .  -scores in psychological  tests.  Diagnosis
Mental illnesses  include : 1- Emotional instability . Behavioral disorder .2- 3- Cognitive dysfunction .
There are almost 400 recognized & named mental disorders, including common ones such as: depression, schizophrenia, hyperactivity, tourette syndrome Obsessive compulsive disorder .
The origins of mental  disorders: -Biological => chemical genetic .-Psychological => trauma and  conflict .
Nurses work with the mentally ill in making assessments and diagnosis, planning care and helping patients regain or improve the skills they need to cope . Importantin the nurse work is thetherapeutic  relationship .
 A relation between the patient and therapist , which is based on  non-judgmental understanding and  which provides the security to be able to speak with honesty.
Treatments: medicine is rarely successful in treating mental illnesses, but can treat it with varying degrees of success. medications - Psychotherapy - Lifestyle adjustments .
certain treatments (controversial) such as:  electroshock and lobotomy (surgical interruption of nerve tracts to and from the frontal lobe of the brain; often results in marked cognitive and personality changes) .
In the past treatments used: Cold water, restraint, isolation (now considered barbaric and cruel) .
Delusion (n) False belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence  Especially as a  symptom of mental illness
some of people mistrust about their prayer Ablution
cleaning their hands many times
Paranoia(n) An abnormal tendency to suspect and mistrust other people are trying to harm him
the patient has illusions make him that he is  persecuted by other people and that the main  reason for  them is a great guy and very important
Posture(n) Relative position of parts  Esp, of the body
Hallucination(n) False or distorted perception Of objects or event with a compelling Sense of their reality
usually Resulting from Drugs Mental disorder
Schizophrenia(N) Any of group of psychotic disorder Usually charterized by withdrawal From reality
hallucinations Illogical Patterns Of Thinking Delusions
accompanied in varying degrees by other *Emotional like he cries when someone tell him a joke  *behavioral  he does not care about his external appearance , or he stops studding  *intellectual disturbances
Isolated(adj) Lonely ; cut off from society  or contact
Tourette's syndrome (n) : a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary tics and vocalizations and often the compulsive utterance of obscenities.
Bipolar Disorder (n) : A mental condition marked by alternating periods of  elation and depression.
:Tic  (n) a fast ,uncontrollable muscle movement ,often occurring in the face .
  Psychotic (adj) : Relating to severe mental illness . Relating to mental illness or to the treatment of it .   Psychiatric (adj) :
: traumatic (adj) (of an injury, etc.) sudden and violent .
Suicide (n)  The act of killing  yourself .
Onset (n) : The time when a disease or condition starts to affect a person .
:Spillage (n) An occasion when liquid is dropped by accident ; the liquid that is dropped .
Manic (adj)  (in psychiatry) relating to or affected by mania.
Distressing (adj) : Something that makes people feel extremely upset .
Arthritis (n) : a disease causing painful inflammation and stiffness of the joints.
Irrational (adj) : not logical or reasonable .
A bad thing that somebody says they will do to another person . Threat (n) :
Swear (v) : To say bad words .
Outburst (n) : a sudden release of strong emotion .
Muttering (n) : a privately expressed complaint or expression of dissatisfaction .
Belching (v) : emit wind noisily from the stomach through the mouth.
Stuttering (n) : talk with continued involuntary repetition of sounds, especially initial consonants .
Shivering (adj) : shake slightly and uncontrollably as a result of being cold, frightened, or excited .
Sniffing (n) : an amount of air or other substance taken up by breathing .
Blinking ..
