HOW TO MAKE A
THANKSGIVING MEDLEY
    OF DESSERTS?
STRAWBERRY
CHEESECAKE
RECIPE #1
 1 helping of Dura mater which is the crust because it protects and supports and surrounds the
pie. (2, 376)
 1 helping of Arachnoid Membrane which is the actual cheesecake filling because it will lay
between the dura and pia mater which is the crust and extra layer of cheesecake. (2,376)
 1 can of Pia mater that will serve as the innermost and second layer of cheesecake filling . (2,
375)
 1 can of circulation which is the strawberries that you will have to drain because it will absorb
throughout the ventricles of the cheesecake and the central canal and then back into the cerebrospinal
fluid. (2, 378)
 To top off this delicious strawberry cheesecake, you will need a few sprays of cerebrospinal fluid
such as whip cream to provide a cushion and a protective layer that will circulate with blood (or
strawberries) and the brain which is the cheesecake. (2, 377)
                                                     ((

 You now have a strawberry cheesecake that makes up different parts of the brain, hope you
enjoy!
APPLE CINNAMON
      PIE
RECIPE #2
 1 pan (with the crust included) to serve as the central nervous system; place this on the counter
and begin to add the rest of the ingredients

 1 can of afferent nerves: use this as the cinnamon and mix it in with the 1 cup of caramel already
made; the pour the mixture onto the central nervous system and spread evenly. This will work as the
neuron that carries impulses to the central nervous system from the periphery. (5)

 1 can of efferent nerves: use this as the pumpkin mixture; make sure to smash the pumpkin
mixture and spread evenly on top of the afferent nervous system. This works as the neuron that
transmits nerve impulses away from the central nervous system to muscle or glands. (5)



 Notice: Do Not let the two mix, they both have a different job and they both work together to
maintain separated.
RECIPE #2 CONT.
 1 box of autonomic nervous system: place the apple strategically around the whole pie so that every slice
when cut contains some. This layer of the pie is made up of autonomic nerves, ganglia and plexuses (apples),
which conduct impulses to the autonomic effectors away from the brainstem or spinal cord. (5)
 1 bottle of sympathetic nervous system: you must place a small layer of powder cinnamon over the apples
to make the pie taste more like cinnamon with apples. Prevents the effects of parasympathetic impulses to the
pie, by doing this it helps prevent the pie from being bland to maintaining a normal apple cinnamon taste.
Major function is that it serves as an emergency system, causes our pie to react to stimulus such as the cold
temp., after taken out of the oven or the change in temp. (5)
 1 can of parasympathetic nervous system: squirt a dollop of the parasympathetic nervous system (whip
cream) on each slice of pie. The main purpose of the Parasympathetic Nervous System is to relax and stimulate
digestion and elimination also digestion glands also known as giving it the extra oomph of flavor and
deliciousness. (5)
 Hope you enjoy your Apple Cinnamon Pie!
KEY LIME PIE
RECIPE #3
 1 pan with crust included(spinal cord)

 1 box of key lime pie mixture; this will serve as the spinal nerves of the pie. The spinal nerves originate from a cell body
located within the spinal cord(pie crust). Long axons extend from the cell body out of the vertebral column and carry sensor and
motor fibers directly to the muscles of the body. (5)

 1 bottle of limes; these will serve as the nerve plexuses which contain axons derived from spinal nerves; pour a cup and a half
of the lime juice into the mixture of the pie.(5)

 Spread a layer of the mixture onto the crust; this will serve as the lumbosacral plexus which is the pelvic girdle and lower
limb. Then spread a layer of filling and on top place another layer of the key lime pie mixture; this one will serve as the brachial
plexus which contains the shoulder girdle and upper limb. Lastly spread another layer of filling and on top place the last layer of
the key lime pie mixture; this one will serve as the cervical plexus which is the muscles of the neck and extends into thoracic
cavity to control the diaphragm.. (5)

 Place the pie in the oven and let cook.

 When ready place a dollop of which cream and a lime on top of the which cream on each slice.

 Hope you enjoy your pie!
SUGAR COOKIES
RECIPE #4
 1 box of sugar cookie mix(dermatome); this will serve as an area of the
skin(cookie) supplied by specific nerve fibers(ingredients). (11)
 1 cup of C5, C6, C7, C8, L4, L5 and S1; this will help the cookies moisture and for
it to rise. This is what help compose the level of the cookie(dermatome).(11)
 4 tubes of cookie icing(myotomes); this will serve as the muscle area in the
body(cookie)which is supplied by a particular level of the spinal cord(dermatome) and
by its corresponding spinal nerve.(design)(11)
 Some designs(myotomes) that you can create are: C5, C6, C7, C8, L4, L5, and S1.
(11)
 Stick the cookies in the oven let bake once done take them out and begin creating
your designs on them.
 Hope you enjoy your sugar cookies.
UPSIDE DOWN CAKE
RECIPE #5
 1 box of cake mix(cranial nerves)(10)
 1 mold with 12 petal flower(cranial nerves sections)(10)
 1 box of icing tubes
 Mix the ingredients and pour the mixture into the mold; this mixture will serve as the cranial nerves which
can only be seen on the bottom surface of the brain. They each have different functions. (10)
 Stick the cake into the oven and let cook when done take out of the oven and flip the mold over onto a
plate.
 When the cake has been flipped over it should have a design on the top of a 12 petal flower.
 Utilizing the icing tubes color each petal a different color so you may identify which petal is for what
cranial nerve.
 Blue- olfactory: smell; yellow- optic: vision; green; oculomotor: eye movement; red- trochlear: eye
movement; orange- trigeminal: somatosensory information from the face and head; violet- abducens: eye
movement; blue-violet- facial: facial expression; green-yellow- vestibulocochlear: hearing and balance; red-
orange- glossopharyngeal: taste; blue-yellow- vagus: glands, digestion and heart rate; red-violet- spinal
accessory: controls muscle in head movement; green-blue- hypoglossal: controls muscle of tongue (10)
OREO CUPCAKE
RECIPE #6
 1 box of cupcake mix(central nervous system)

 1 bag of Oreo cookies(sensory pathways)

 Place the cupcake mix into the cupcake holders; the first layer will serve as the nerves of the central
nervous system, the next layer will be smashed Oreo cookies which will serve as the sensory pathways
that deliver somatic and visceral sensory information to the final destinations inside the CNS(cupcake
    mix) using the nerves. (5)

 The next layer will be of filling this layer will serve as the nuclei, the next layer will be of smashed
Oreo's, the last layer is more cupcake mix to serve as the tracts of the CNS. (5)

 This will conclude the cupcake and help the somatic sensory pathways to distribute their information into
    the brain(cupcake). (5)

 Place the cupcakes into the oven and this will stimulate the sensory pathways to pass information to the
CNS (cupcake mix) in the form of action potentials along the axon of a sensory neuron(Oreo cookies). (5)

 Hope you enjoy your cupcakes!
CARROT CAKE
RECIPE #7
 1 box of carrot cake mix(motor sensory)(5)
 Mix all the ingredients together and place them on a circular mold
 Place a layer of the carrot cake mix, then a layer of cream cheese filling, another
layer of carrot cake and lastly another layer of cream cheese. This will create a
pyramid look which shows that motor sensory is a pyramidal pathway, through the
lateral corticospinal tract.(5)
 Then you must stick it in the oven and let cook to test the characteristics of the
stimulus conveyed by the frequency and patter of action potential: strength, duration
and variation. (5)
 Hope you enjoy your carrot cake, showing the motor sensory part of our bodies!
BANANA WALNUT CAKE
RECIPE #8
 1 bag of bananas(nerve fibers)
 1 bag of walnuts(bony vertebral column)
 1 box of banana walnut bread mix(spinal cord)
 Mix the banana walnut bread mix(spinal cord) with the bananas(nerve fiber) so that it may
perform the job of producing conductions to and from the brain and serve as the integrator, or reflex
center for all spinal reflexes.(5, pg. 381)
 After you have mixed the bananas with the mix you will be able to observe that it looks more like
a spinal cord due to the fact that the spinal cord consist of many nerve fibers(bananas) which transmit
electrical information to and from the limbs, trunk, organs and back to and from the brain. (15)
 Add the bag of walnuts(bony vertebral column)
 Mix it all together and place on a long mold(brain); now you can see that as the mix adheres to the
mold that’s the way our spinal cord is adhered to our brain; which then descends to the middle of the
back protected by the walnuts(bony vertebral column.). (15)
PUMPKIN PIE
RECIPE #9
 1 1/2 cups of pumpkin which are the sensory tracts which pass through the brainstem on their way to the thalamus in
the diencephalon
 ½ teaspoon of cinnamon which is where the axons terminate in the brainstem
 **Tip: Careful with the cinnamon cause it can cause centers in the medulla to produce a reflex function and cause you
to sneeze!
 1 cup of pecans that are chopped to represent the dendrites in thalamus which also produces sensory reflexes
 6 cups of walnuts which are the cell bodies in thalamus that are responsible by producing sensory impulses and causing
an unpleasant or pleasant effect.
 Mix the walnuts and pecans together and these two items together will cause you to produce skilled movements such as
jerking your hand or arm to mix them really well. This is an example of the cerebellum which also works with the cortex.
 Put mixture in oven that is pre heated, but be careful of the sensory response in the thalamus related touch, or you will
burn yourself!
RECIPE #9
 The surface of this pumpkin pie after it is taken out of the oven should look like
little road paths which make up the cerebral cortex. To separate the pumpkin pie into
different section to make it easier to eat, you can use knives or grooves also known as
fissures to create 5 different sections in your pumpkin to make it easier to eat.
 I hope you enjoy this pumpkin pie and that this recipe was helpful in making your
thanksgiving dinner! Remember to eat smaller portions because pumpkin pie is just a
dessert, and if you have trouble maintaining your appetite, the hypothalamus will have
to regulate your food intake.
 **Also remember to wait about 5 minutes for food to cool or the hypothalamus
will also have to regulate your body temperature if you’re eating food that is too hot!

(2, 378)  To top off this delicious strawberry cheesecake, you will need a few sprays of cerebrospinal fluid such as whip cream to provide a cushion and a protective layer that will circulate with blood (or strawberries) and the brain which is the cheesecake. (2, 377) ((  You now have a strawberry cheesecake that makes up different parts of the brain, hope you enjoy!
  • 6. RECIPE #2  1 pan (with the crust included) to serve as the central nervous system; place this on the counter and begin to add the rest of the ingredients  1 can of afferent nerves: use this as the cinnamon and mix it in with the 1 cup of caramel already made; the pour the mixture onto the central nervous system and spread evenly. This will work as the neuron that carries impulses to the central nervous system from the periphery. (5)  1 can of efferent nerves: use this as the pumpkin mixture; make sure to smash the pumpkin mixture and spread evenly on top of the afferent nervous system. This works as the neuron that transmits nerve impulses away from the central nervous system to muscle or glands. (5)   Notice: Do Not let the two mix, they both have a different job and they both work together to maintain separated.
  • 7. RECIPE #2 CONT.  1 box of autonomic nervous system: place the apple strategically around the whole pie so that every slice when cut contains some. This layer of the pie is made up of autonomic nerves, ganglia and plexuses (apples), which conduct impulses to the autonomic effectors away from the brainstem or spinal cord. (5)  1 bottle of sympathetic nervous system: you must place a small layer of powder cinnamon over the apples to make the pie taste more like cinnamon with apples. Prevents the effects of parasympathetic impulses to the pie, by doing this it helps prevent the pie from being bland to maintaining a normal apple cinnamon taste. Major function is that it serves as an emergency system, causes our pie to react to stimulus such as the cold temp., after taken out of the oven or the change in temp. (5)  1 can of parasympathetic nervous system: squirt a dollop of the parasympathetic nervous system (whip cream) on each slice of pie. The main purpose of the Parasympathetic Nervous System is to relax and stimulate digestion and elimination also digestion glands also known as giving it the extra oomph of flavor and deliciousness. (5)  Hope you enjoy your Apple Cinnamon Pie!
  • 9. RECIPE #3  1 pan with crust included(spinal cord)  1 box of key lime pie mixture; this will serve as the spinal nerves of the pie. The spinal nerves originate from a cell body located within the spinal cord(pie crust). Long axons extend from the cell body out of the vertebral column and carry sensor and motor fibers directly to the muscles of the body. (5)  1 bottle of limes; these will serve as the nerve plexuses which contain axons derived from spinal nerves; pour a cup and a half of the lime juice into the mixture of the pie.(5)  Spread a layer of the mixture onto the crust; this will serve as the lumbosacral plexus which is the pelvic girdle and lower limb. Then spread a layer of filling and on top place another layer of the key lime pie mixture; this one will serve as the brachial plexus which contains the shoulder girdle and upper limb. Lastly spread another layer of filling and on top place the last layer of the key lime pie mixture; this one will serve as the cervical plexus which is the muscles of the neck and extends into thoracic cavity to control the diaphragm.. (5)  Place the pie in the oven and let cook.  When ready place a dollop of which cream and a lime on top of the which cream on each slice.  Hope you enjoy your pie!
  • 11. RECIPE #4  1 box of sugar cookie mix(dermatome); this will serve as an area of the skin(cookie) supplied by specific nerve fibers(ingredients). (11)  1 cup of C5, C6, C7, C8, L4, L5 and S1; this will help the cookies moisture and for it to rise. This is what help compose the level of the cookie(dermatome).(11)  4 tubes of cookie icing(myotomes); this will serve as the muscle area in the body(cookie)which is supplied by a particular level of the spinal cord(dermatome) and by its corresponding spinal nerve.(design)(11)  Some designs(myotomes) that you can create are: C5, C6, C7, C8, L4, L5, and S1. (11)  Stick the cookies in the oven let bake once done take them out and begin creating your designs on them.  Hope you enjoy your sugar cookies.
  • 13. RECIPE #5  1 box of cake mix(cranial nerves)(10)  1 mold with 12 petal flower(cranial nerves sections)(10)  1 box of icing tubes  Mix the ingredients and pour the mixture into the mold; this mixture will serve as the cranial nerves which can only be seen on the bottom surface of the brain. They each have different functions. (10)  Stick the cake into the oven and let cook when done take out of the oven and flip the mold over onto a plate.  When the cake has been flipped over it should have a design on the top of a 12 petal flower.  Utilizing the icing tubes color each petal a different color so you may identify which petal is for what cranial nerve.  Blue- olfactory: smell; yellow- optic: vision; green; oculomotor: eye movement; red- trochlear: eye movement; orange- trigeminal: somatosensory information from the face and head; violet- abducens: eye movement; blue-violet- facial: facial expression; green-yellow- vestibulocochlear: hearing and balance; red- orange- glossopharyngeal: taste; blue-yellow- vagus: glands, digestion and heart rate; red-violet- spinal accessory: controls muscle in head movement; green-blue- hypoglossal: controls muscle of tongue (10)
  • 15. RECIPE #6  1 box of cupcake mix(central nervous system)  1 bag of Oreo cookies(sensory pathways)  Place the cupcake mix into the cupcake holders; the first layer will serve as the nerves of the central nervous system, the next layer will be smashed Oreo cookies which will serve as the sensory pathways that deliver somatic and visceral sensory information to the final destinations inside the CNS(cupcake mix) using the nerves. (5)  The next layer will be of filling this layer will serve as the nuclei, the next layer will be of smashed Oreo's, the last layer is more cupcake mix to serve as the tracts of the CNS. (5)  This will conclude the cupcake and help the somatic sensory pathways to distribute their information into the brain(cupcake). (5)  Place the cupcakes into the oven and this will stimulate the sensory pathways to pass information to the CNS (cupcake mix) in the form of action potentials along the axon of a sensory neuron(Oreo cookies). (5)  Hope you enjoy your cupcakes!
  • 17. RECIPE #7  1 box of carrot cake mix(motor sensory)(5)  Mix all the ingredients together and place them on a circular mold  Place a layer of the carrot cake mix, then a layer of cream cheese filling, another layer of carrot cake and lastly another layer of cream cheese. This will create a pyramid look which shows that motor sensory is a pyramidal pathway, through the lateral corticospinal tract.(5)  Then you must stick it in the oven and let cook to test the characteristics of the stimulus conveyed by the frequency and patter of action potential: strength, duration and variation. (5)  Hope you enjoy your carrot cake, showing the motor sensory part of our bodies!
  • 19. RECIPE #8  1 bag of bananas(nerve fibers)  1 bag of walnuts(bony vertebral column)  1 box of banana walnut bread mix(spinal cord)  Mix the banana walnut bread mix(spinal cord) with the bananas(nerve fiber) so that it may perform the job of producing conductions to and from the brain and serve as the integrator, or reflex center for all spinal reflexes.(5, pg. 381)  After you have mixed the bananas with the mix you will be able to observe that it looks more like a spinal cord due to the fact that the spinal cord consist of many nerve fibers(bananas) which transmit electrical information to and from the limbs, trunk, organs and back to and from the brain. (15)  Add the bag of walnuts(bony vertebral column)  Mix it all together and place on a long mold(brain); now you can see that as the mix adheres to the mold that’s the way our spinal cord is adhered to our brain; which then descends to the middle of the back protected by the walnuts(bony vertebral column.). (15)
  • 21. RECIPE #9  1 1/2 cups of pumpkin which are the sensory tracts which pass through the brainstem on their way to the thalamus in the diencephalon  ½ teaspoon of cinnamon which is where the axons terminate in the brainstem  **Tip: Careful with the cinnamon cause it can cause centers in the medulla to produce a reflex function and cause you to sneeze!  1 cup of pecans that are chopped to represent the dendrites in thalamus which also produces sensory reflexes  6 cups of walnuts which are the cell bodies in thalamus that are responsible by producing sensory impulses and causing an unpleasant or pleasant effect.  Mix the walnuts and pecans together and these two items together will cause you to produce skilled movements such as jerking your hand or arm to mix them really well. This is an example of the cerebellum which also works with the cortex.  Put mixture in oven that is pre heated, but be careful of the sensory response in the thalamus related touch, or you will burn yourself!
  • 22. RECIPE #9  The surface of this pumpkin pie after it is taken out of the oven should look like little road paths which make up the cerebral cortex. To separate the pumpkin pie into different section to make it easier to eat, you can use knives or grooves also known as fissures to create 5 different sections in your pumpkin to make it easier to eat.  I hope you enjoy this pumpkin pie and that this recipe was helpful in making your thanksgiving dinner! Remember to eat smaller portions because pumpkin pie is just a dessert, and if you have trouble maintaining your appetite, the hypothalamus will have to regulate your food intake.  **Also remember to wait about 5 minutes for food to cool or the hypothalamus will also have to regulate your body temperature if you’re eating food that is too hot!
