I hereby confirm that Nini Nielsen attended the course "Comparative studies of religion l" in the academie
year September 2000 - June 2001. This course is an introductory course to the comparative study of religion,
theory and method, and to a series of historica! and present religious traditions, among others indigenous
peoples religions, Greek-Hellenistic religions, Islam and Hinduism/Buddhism. The formative periods,
including the reading of classical texts, as well as the present developments in the light of globalization and
the meeting of cultures, the new presence of Islam as well as other 'world' religions Denmark must be
included. Visits to local meeting places of the various minority religions also was part of the course.
Nini was a highlymotivated and enthusiastic student, well-prepared for the lectures and activelyparticipating
in discussions, including discussions on the role of the scholar of religion in the public debates about religion,
migrants et al. Nini herself has followed up upon this by way of actively participating in the public debate in
one of the main dailies.
Finally, I want to add that Nini also participated in department and student activities outside the
classroom, and she functioned as tutor for a group of incoming students.
