This document provides an estimation of costs for two approaches to managing the dog population in a town with 200,000 people and 8,000 dogs over a 10 year period: catch and kill, and contraception, neutering, vaccination, and return (CNVR). The total estimated cost for CNVR is €995,000, while the total estimated cost for catch and kill is €1,800,000. Catch and kill also does not achieve long-term reduction of the dog population, which remains around 6,000 dogs. The document outlines the monthly and annual costs associated with salaries, operating expenses, equipment, and other costs for each approach.
