2. The issue for these youth are that they don’t
have enough extracurricular programming.
If they do have programs available must youth
may not be able to afford the fees
transportation my be an issue to must youth as
well

provide a variety of extracurricular
programming to youth in high risk

and Kingston, Galloway.

7. We decided to Interview East
Metro Youth Services, to find
out what programs they offered
in greater detail and how their
services make a difference in the
community.
We also Interviewed Play it
Smart mentorship services that
works in affiliation with
Centennial College to provide
safe spaces to mentor, tutor and
provide physical activity for
children.
8. National Crime Prevention Center of Public
Safety Canada conducted a study that outlines
reasons why and where youth conduct the most
crime. It strongest finding?
Residents who have greater access to
resources have higher education and income
levels.
Availability of school extracurricular activities
were found to reduce the risk of delinquency!

14. Many of our members were inspired by the
organization Play It Smart and the young people
who attends the program.
We have register to become mentors to help
tutor the young people.

are registering as mentors for the upcoming September 2013 season with Play It
Smart.

We learned that there are a lot of agencies that
are dedicated to helping youth living in high risk
areas.
we have learned what it takes to be an
advocate and what is needed in order to fully
advocate on behalf on something or someone.
