Summer Tasks 2012

Fine art

Make the tallest structure that you can and document it.
Buy a charity shop jigsaw puzzle. Paint it all one colour and try to put it
together. Document the results.
Make a scale model of a structure that you see everyday.
Make a drawing of the first thing that you see in the morning. Do this
every day of the summer break.
Watch a television programme. Write down everything that happens as
a sequence of events. After the programme, pick a sequence at
random and make a painting about it.
Take 10 of the most beautiful photographs that you can think of. Now
take 10 of the most ugly photographs that you can think of. Present
them on facing pages in your sketchbook. Ask a selection of people
their opinion and document their responses on the same pages as the
images.


Exhibitions to see

Visit the exhibitions. Document your visit by making notes, collecting
images and any information about the artists or the work. Buy
postcards and present all of this in your sketchbooks.
