Experiment
Vocabulary Transformation:  a transformation is a translation (sometimes called a slide), a reflection (sometimes called a flip), a rotation (sometimes called a turn), or a dilation (sometimes called an enlargement or reduction) Translation:  a translation is the figure resulting from moving every point of a given figure a certain distance in a certain direction
More Vocabulary Reflection:  a figure is said to be reflected with respect to a line if a fold on the line makes the two figures coincide Rotation:  a translation that moves the figure in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction with respect to a specific point Dilation:  enlargement or reduction in the polygon;  the polygons are similar
Let’s look at some examples! Turn to pages 180- 184
Turn to Handout #1 ,[object Object]
Reflect 5 places to the right and 2 places down.
Rotate it 90 degrees clockwise,[object Object]

Label the coordinates of each vertex
Sketch the translation across the x-axis (slide, not reflect). 	Label the coordinates and vertices.
Translate your initial 4 units to the left and 2 units up. Label 	the coordinates and vertices.
