more than just a space adventure full of exciting battles?
Your answer should be 500-800 words in length and make extensive reference
in the form of examples from the novel itself
It may also:
 Identify specific use of language for particular effects in the novel
 Explain how the development of the characters adds to the story
 Explore the themes of the text and how they relate to life or other texts
 Indicate ways that the novel might influence the reader
 Discuss what events in the novel lifted it beyond the realm of space-fantasy.
You have three periods to complete this assessment, with the weekend and over-
night breaks between these. The first session should be used for planning and
drafting your response, and the second for editing and the last for producing a fi-
nal copy.
During the assessment you will have full access to the novel itself as well as your
school book.
