I am pleased to write this recommendation letter on behalf of Mr Mirko Meyer.
Mirko was employed by CHC Helicopters in March 2008 and seconded in February 2014 to Atlantic
Aviation Limited, a CHC joint venture based in Nigeria, to join the Leadership Team here as Lead Pilot.
Atlantic Aviation had just acquired an Aircraft Operating Certificate (AOC) and was pursuing offshore
helicopter opportunities in Nigeria.
As Lead Pilot, then Chief Pilot and later Director of Operations, Mirko was the responsible manager for
our Port Harcourt base, overseeing the entire operation there, with special focus on Flight Operations.
He was required to coordinate all the planning and logistics for the base, strategically and tactically.
His responsibilities also extended to managing the customers, both Oil Company and Nigerian
government, including at times political officials.
Mirko’s experience and capabilities were always evident in his performance. With a strong background
of integrity, he displayed good leadership abilities, excellent problem‐solving skills, as well as the
ability to build strong company loyalty across a diversity of cultures within the expatriate and national
workforce. His strong belief in effective and constructive communication with all was an important
part of his successful and effective leadership, and earned him respect from employees across all parts
of the business including his superiors.
I am confident that Mirko’s attitude, work ethic and skill set will make him a valuable employee in any
