Mill City Live: Outdoor Music Series – Adam Levy & Friends
Thursday, August 11, 6 – 8 pm
Adam Levy’s signature guitar playing, deft songwriting and charismatic vocals have long anchored
the Honeydogs, who debuted with a 1995 self-titled effort which introduced their twangy garage-
pop sound. Their other recordings include Everything, I Bet You (1996), Seen A Ghost (1997) and
Here’s Luck (2001). On their recent CDs, 10,000 Years (2003), Amygdala, Can’t Feel the Beating
and Sunshine Committee (2009), their sound has expanded to include shades of the Stones'
Exile on Main Street, Fresh-era Sly Stone, twilight Hendrix and Revolver-esque Beatles, all with
Levy's surreal, evocative and enigmatic lyrics. Levy also writes and performs songs for children as
the band Bunny Clogs. He is also the leader of a favorite local cover band, Hookers and Blow. The
Twin Cities’ most explosive outdoor concert series is back for an eighth season with a slate of
bands curated by music writer Jim Walsh. Featuring legendary performers from the heyday of the
Minneapolis sound, these concerts will riff on American music in a gorgeous riverfront setting every
Thursday through August 18. Admission includes the concert and entrance to the museum from 4
to 9 p.m. Food and drink by D’Amico Catering available for purchase. Fee: $5 per person;
includes admission to Mill City Museum. Free for MHS members.
