The Saturday Night Experience is two hours of the finest in nu jazz, broken beat, neo soul, funk, rare groove. While Innovative plays the most effective in contemporary jazz covering a variety of styles, it’s an exciting tour of current and upcoming releases worldwide of jazz. Mike’s entire life revolves around music. When he’s not presenting his shows on Jazz FM, he explains he loves to “buy music, hear music, watch music, focus on music, find out about music. . . I feel I have to look at other life options.” When asked what he considers the highest album ever he replies “how can someone who has devoted his life from the quest for musical perfection narrow this to one album? ” An authentic music enthusiast indeed. - 2. Mark Turner. The show was originally broadcast on Jazz FM on Sunday 22nd April 2012. Mike Chadwick is brilliant however i afraid to mention I've neglected him throughout the years and I'm unclear why because he did really interesting and great selections dropping anything from east German nu jazz towards the ECM label and some Pat Methany side project of jams for some hunched backed sticky fingered goblin pumping out jazz chords on his baraphone flute flizzler. He's much like the Jazz John Peel and should be a house hold name. I have several cassettes of his Really Advanced show from back in the late 90's which should be digitized some day. Great to know he's still going strong on Jazzfm. Thanks Steph.
