To Whom It May Concern:
This reference letter for Ms. Michelle Clinch is based on my experience working with her from
January 1998 to June 2009 as both a faculty member and the Chair of the Department of
Curriculum and Instruction at Monmouth University.
Ms. Clinch has been working full-time as the office coordinator for more than 11 years in the
Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Her main responsibilities included, but certainly not
limited to, assisting the Department Chair in all capacities; providing timely support to all faculty
members and adjunct professors; the hiring, training and supervising of student assistants in the
office; being the first contact with students and faculty in the office; coordinating meetings for
administrators, students, and faculty; serving as the first contact and the connecting point between
the C&I Department and all other units on campus; registering students for semester classes, course
schedule implementation and course book orders, organizing and filing documents, public and/or
confidential; and most importantly creating a successful and pleasant working environment.
With her friendly and agreeable personality, competence in organizing tasks, and a willingness to go
the extra mile to help both the faculty and students, Ms. Clinch has won the respect and admiration
from the faculty, adjunct professors, students, administrators, and all other working departments
and units on campus.
Ms. Clinch is motivated, hardworking, highly productive, eager to help, and quick to learn. As an
office coordinator with many years of experience, she has been successful handling multitasks under
high pressure using her organization skills. Her willingness to take initiatives, to think and plan
ahead of time, and to endure different personalities has made my job as a Department Chair much
easier. As a caring person, she has been the major factor that contributed to a thoughtful, friendly
office environment. Without her support in the past four years that I was serving as the Department
Chair, I could not have accomplished what I have.
She is proficient in the following university software programs and applications: Datatel College
WebAdvisor Student Registration, E-Campus, Doc-e-scan, Application Works, Wintegrate Release
17 version, ON-Base Informer Software Uni Applications, and also is proficient on Mac Apple iWork
(Pages, Keynote, Numbers) and the Microsoft Office Suite and XP (Excel, Word, FrontPage, Access,
PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook/Google calendar).
Ms. Clinch's resignation and decision to move from New Jersey to California to reconnect with her
family has saddened everyone in my Department, since she possesses the personality in addition to
the client and customer skills to make everyone's job so much easier. Based upon my experience
working with her, I believe that Ms. Clinch would be an excellent asset to any working environment.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you need further details.
Truly yours,
Jingzi Huang, Ph.D (Associate Professor) & Chair, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, SOE
